Fragile X-associated primary ovarian insufficiency (FXPOI) is an inherited ovarian disorder characterised by hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and infertility before age 40 years. It is caused by an FMR1 premutation CGG repeat expansion that disrupts ovarian folliculogenesis.
