PGx tamoxifen
This panel determines the CYP2D6 metaboliser status of patients who are candidates for, or receiving, adjuvant tamoxifen for oestrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer. CYP2D6 encodes the enzyme that bioactivates tamoxifen to its principal active metabolite, endoxifen, so CYP2D6 genotype influences endoxifen exposure. The page provides a factual assessment of the gene to drug relationship only; it gives no dosing, prescribing or treatment recommendation.
