Episodic ataxia
Synonyms: Episodic ataxia (EA)
Overview
Episodic ataxias (EAs) comprise a genetically and clinically heterogeneous group of neurological disorders characterised by recurrent attacks of ataxia accompanied by various transient neurological manifestations. Given their episodic nature, overlapping clinical phenotypes, and common genetic mechanisms with other paroxysmal neurological conditions, EAs are currently classified within the broader spectrum of paroxysmal movement disorders.
