Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is an inherited cerebrovascular disorder characterised by recurrent ischaemic strokes, progressive cognitive decline and white matter hyperintensities. CSVD encompasses a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of monogenic disorders affecting the cerebral arterioles.
