Overview
Fetal lower urinary tract obstruction (LUTO) is a severe condition associated with increased perinatal morbidity and mortality. Prenatally, it is characterised by an enlarged urinary bladder and bilateral obstructive uropathy. Severe forms frequently lead to oligohydramnios, dysplastic renal changes, and secondary pulmonary hypoplasia. The incidence of LUTO is estimated to range from 1:5,000 to 1:25,000 pregnancies.
