Overview
Tyrosinaemia type I (hepatorenal tyrosinaemia) is caused by the deficiency of fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase, leading to the accumulation of toxic tyrosine metabolites with progressive liver disease, renal tubular dysfunction, neurological crises, and an increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma.
