Overview
Isovaleric acidaemia (isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency) is caused by deficiency of the mitochondrial FAD-dependent enzyme isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase, leading to the accumulation of isovaleryl-CoA metabolites with acute neonatal or later-onset metabolic decompensation.
